The Salt Lake City School District offers Early Childhood programs to support children and their families, birth through age 5. Programs are designed to give students the assistance they need to prepare them for school success. Parents are also provided information and support.
Our Programs
- Parents as Teachers (prenatal - 5 years old)
Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a home visitor program available to all families with children birth to 5 who live within Salt Lake City School District boundaries. Families are served free of charge, on a voluntary basis. PAT is based on the premise that parents are the first and most influential teachers of their children. Our program is a developmentally, culturally appropriate program specifically designed to meet the needs of four-year-old children. We provide a child centered environment, safe materials, meaningful and engaging instructions, and the emotional support that will guide your child's learning in all areas of development: social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language. Registration is OPEN for Summer Kindergarten Readiness

Registration is currently OPEN through June 14, 2013 for Summer Kindergarten Readiness at Bennion, Lincoln, Mountain View and Rose Park Elementary Schools.
This program is tuition-based ($50.00 total per child) and enrollment is limited. Participants must be five years old by September 1 of the current year.
Classes begin on June 10, 2013 and end on July 11, 2013.
Please bring with you:
- Child's official birth certificate (child must be five years old by September 1, 2013).
- Child's Immunization records.
- Proof of home address (such as a bill or rental agreement).
- Parent or legal guardian's picture ID.
- A registration fee of $50 (Registration fees are non-refundable, in the form of a cash, check or money order).

Pre-Kindergarten Registration for Title I Schools

Registration for Title I School Pre-Kindergarten Classes are currently ongoing in Room 108 at the district office (440 East 100 South).
Registration Fee: $20.00
Tuition: *Based on a sliding scale with proof of income and dependents.
Classes are held four days per week, 3 hours per day and have AM or PM session options.
School locations are Backman, Bennion, Edison, Escalante, Franklin, Jackson, Lincoln, Meadowlark, Mountain View, Newman, North Star, Parkview, Riley, Rose Park, Washington and Whittier Elementary Schools.
Please bring with you:
- Child's official birth certificate (child must be four years old by September 1, 2013).
- Child's Immunization records.
- Proof of home address (such as a bill or rental agreement).
- Parent or legal guardian's picture ID.
- A registration fee $20 (Registration fees are non-refundable, in the form of a cash, check or money order).
- Income is verified using your 2012 taxes (1040 form), in which child's name must be listed, if you wish to be considered for reduced tuition.

Pre-Kindergarten Registration for Beacon Heights & Ensign Elementary Schools

Beacon Heights and Ensign Elementary registration for Pre-Kindergarten Classes are currently ongoing in Room 108 at the district office (440 East 100 South).
Please bring with you:

- Proof of address (such as a bill or rental agreement that places household within district boundaries).
- Parent or legal guardian's picture ID.
- $75 registration fee (Registration fees are non-refundable, in the form of a cash, check or money order).
