The Salt Lake City School district accepts Substitute Teacher applications only from individuals who (1) have a teaching license (any state), (2) have completed a teacher preparation program or (3) have at least a bachelor's degree.
Applications are available at the district's Human Resources Department, 440 East 100 South, Room 120, Salt Lake City Utah. (We are unable to make all application materials available online at this time.) A criminal background check is required and fingerprinting will be done at Human Resources by appointment only. The fee for the criminal background check is $40 and is payable by check, cash or credit card.
When applicants visit the Human Resources office to pick up an application, they will be registered for an upcoming orientation session.
Pay Rates for Substitute Teachers are:
Substitute - Bachelor's Degree* $85.00/Day
Substitute - Teaching Certificate** $95/Day
Substitute - Retired teacher for SLCSD - $110/Day
