2010-2011 Title I Pre-K Registration - Title I Pre-K is a federally funded program. Tuition is required for this optional program and is determined by yearly income. Please note that enrollment is limited and that participants must be four years old by September 2, 2010. More information | Más información

We are very excited to be involved in the national Jumpstart's Read for the Record campaign on October 8, 2009. Our students and parents will be involved in fun and stimulating literacy activities involving the 40th anniversary edition of Eric Carle's delightful book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

What is Early Childhood?

SLCSD offers Early Childhood programs to support children and their families, birth through age 5. Programs are designed to give students the assistance they need to prepare them for school success. Parents are also provided the information and support to be successful parents.

During Pre-Kindergarten, preschoolers experience the following opportunities:

  • Literacy
  • Numbers/Shapes and patterns
  • Science
  • Creative play
  • Creative art
  • Music
  • Supervised outdoor play
  • Group work
  • Oral language development
  • Dramatic play

Title 1 Schools offering Pre-Kindergarten include Backman, Bennion, Edison, Escalante, Franklin, Jackson, Lincoln, Meadowlark, Mountain View, Newman, North Star, Parkview, Riley, Rose Park, Washington and Whittier. *Tuition is based on a sliding scale for qualifying families.

FEE BASED Schools offering Pre-Kindergarten include Highland Park and Beacon Heights Elementary Schools.
