Honors & Advanced Placement

Although the ELP ends after the students' 8th grade year, the Salt Lake City School District provides the following options at the high school level:

Honors classes are available to students who are recommended by prior teachers on the basis of excellent performance in prerequisite courses.

Advanced Placement classes are available to students who wish to pursue college-level studies while still in secondary school, and receive upper division placement, credit, or both, in college. By challenging and stimulating students, the AP Program provides access to a high quality education, accelerates learning, rewards achievement, and enhances students' high school and college programs.

To refer your child, please read the ELP Frequently Asked Questions.
