February 25 will be a busy day inside Salt Lake City schools. Below is a list of the events principals wanted to share with their communities and the city.
Newman Elementary School
Fifth- and sixth-grade students will take a field trip to ATK to watch a rocket booster test.
Wasatch Elementary School
LDS Hospital, a Wasatch Elementary business partner, is hosting a gallery stroll from 2-4 p.m. with art pieces created by students. The hospital frames the student art and displays it for three months.
Dilworth Elementary School
Dilworth fifth-grade students will be performing a patriotic program that is very popular with the community. Last year, it received rave reviews and even inspired donations to the school. The program starts at 7 p.m.
Highland Park Elementary School
Highland Park will host a Family Art Night - 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. This workshop is a part of the Imagination Celebration of Salt Lake City, an ongoing arts education festival administered by YouthCity Artways.
Career and Technical Center
Health Care Career Day: There will be around 900 high school students from the Wasatch Front Region, 150 from Salt Lake City School District, exploring various health careers. There are 19 presenters with hands on activities from the health care industries. The program starts at 10 a.m. and runs through noon.
