Dilworth is named after Mary Jane Dilworth the first school teacher in Utah. In 1847, she starting teaching in the “old fort” that is now known as Pioneer Park. While the original building was erected in 1947, we have a new state-of-the-art building that won several architectural awards.

- Dilworth is a Community of Caring. This is a national organization that emphasizes teaching and living the values of responsibility, trust, respect, caring, and family.
- Dilworth is proud to have high academic achievement, as measured by state and district exams.
- Dilworth is known for its teaching of, and advocacy for, arts education. Art is regularly integrated with other subject areas.
- Dilworth’s school expectations are: be safe, be respectful, be responsible, be caring.
Dilworth Highlights
- Our veteran staff is “Highly Qualified” according to the most recent Federal and State requirements. Our staff believes that continuing education will insure that we stay at the forefront of educational developments. We have many teachers with graduate degrees and endorsements.
- Our parental involvement is one of the major reasons we are successful year after year. Our PTA partners with local business to provide many extras for the children of our community.
- Dilworth’s art teacher has been funded, in part, by the State Legislature through the Beverly Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program.
- Dilworth’s music program is funded, in part, by a generous grant by the Salt Lake City Arts Council.
