Superintendent's Message 2016-17
May

Dear Parents and Guardians:
13 Reasons Why is a new series on Netflix that has developed a large following and is raising concerns in communities across the country. I want to make sure that SLCSD families know about the series and our concerns. I also want to provide resources to families to help with conversations associated with the series.

Dear SLCSD Community,
One of my priorities as superintendent of SLCSD is to visit schools on a regular basis. While visiting schools, I am proud and impressed with the opportunities available to all students.

Dear SLCSD Community,
Happy New Year, and welcome to 2017. It is my hope that the holiday break gave our students, staff, and families a chance to rest and rejuvenate as we prepare for a busy and successful spring.
December

Dear SLCSD Community,
The old adage “It is better to give than to receive” rings true throughout the Salt Lake City School District during the holiday season. While our students are preparing for tests and completing their assignments, they are also supporting those in need.
November

Dear SLCSD Employees, Parents and Community,
As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, I realize that there is a great deal to be thankful for this holiday season in the Salt Lake City School District.

Dear Parents and Community Members,
As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, I am reminded of how grateful I am to SLCSD employees and the community who dedicate themselves every day to the students and work of the Salt Lake City School District.
