374 SLCSD Students Earn Seal of Biliteracy

During the 2024-25 school year, 374 Salt Lake City School District students earned the Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy is awarded to students who are proficient in English and one or more World Languages or the Indigenes Languages of Navajo, Ute, or Paiute.

A “Seal of Biliteracy" means a seal placed electronically on a student's high school transcript that indicates a student has achieved in English, and in a world language, grades 1-12.

2024–2025 District Seal of Biliteracy Highlights:

  • 374 students achieved the Seal of Biliteracy (2024-2025)
  • 228 graduating seniors received the Seal of Biliteracy (earned either in 2024 or 2025)
  • Seals were awarded in 17 different languages (2024-2025)
  • 15 students earned the Seal in multiple languages (2024-2025)

East

  • 134 students achieved the Seal of Biliteracy
  • 66 graduating seniors received the Seal of Biliteracy (earned either in 2024 or 2025)
  • Seals were awarded in 4 different languages
  • 1 student earned the Seal in multiple languages

Highland

  • 66 students achieved the Seal of Biliteracy
  • 40 graduating seniors received the Seal of Biliteracy (earned either in 2024 or 2025)
  • Seals were awarded in 7 different languages
  • 3 students earned the Seal in multiple languages

West

  • 167 students achieved the Seal of Biliteracy
  • 114 graduating seniors received the Seal of Biliteracy (earned either in 2024 or 2025)
  • Seals were awarded in 11 different languages
  • 11 students earned the Seal in multiple languages
