Builders Day at the University of Utah welcomed more than 500 students from six Wasatch Front school districts, including 24 students from East High and another 26 from Highland High. This event was hosted by more than 40 building, construction, electrical, and design companies from across the Wasatch Front.
Students were able to participate in hands-on activities, like sitting in the driver’s seat of construction industry equipment, and learn about paths towards becoming employed in the industry. They were able to ask all kinds of questions of each employer, and the buzz on the bus ride back to school was that many were excited to be able to seek out summer internships or summer apprenticeships between their junior and senior years of high school.
