SLCSE Teacher Selected for Utah Governor's Medal

We are thrilled to share that Dr. Nicola Hack, a science teacher at the Salt Lake Center for Science Education, has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Utah Governor’s Medal for Science and Technology in the K-12 Education category. This is Utah’s highest civilian award recognizing distinguished service and significant contributions to science and technology.

Dr. Hack’s visionary leadership, innovative teaching, and tireless work to expand both student and teacher capacity have made a transformative impact within our school and the broader community. Her initiatives — from partnerships with local universities to hands-on field experiences — exemplify excellence in K-12 science education.

We are proud of Dr. Hack and look forward to celebrating this well-deserved honor.
