Sterling Scholars

Salt Lake City School District was represented well by its students during the recent State Sterling Scholar competition. We had three state winners:

• Mingchuan Cheng (West High School) - State Sterling Scholar for Mathematics
• Gemma Leonard (Highland High School - State Sterling Scholar for Dance
• Krishnam Goel (West High School) - State Sterling Scholar for Science

We also had three students named Runners Up.

• Luca Di Gregorio (Highland High School) - Runner Up for English
• Anud Hashi (Highland High School) - Runner Up for Social Studies
• Angela Zhou (West High School) - Runner Up for Skilled and Technical Services

Krishnam Goel was also a finalist for the Gail Miller Service Award.
