CTE Students Visit O.C. Tanner for Manufacturing Day
October is national manufacturing month, and SLCSD Career and Technical Education (CTE) students were invited to participate in the Manufacturing Day activities at O. C. Tanner. The district was represented by students from West High and Highland High.
Business leaders from O.C. Tanner greeted our students with breakfast and a half day of visiting the manufacturing portion of their business. Students and district CTE staff were able to get a glimpse of how O.C. Tanner manufactures all types of awards, including Olympic medals, national sports team recognition, employee awards, and more.
The CTE students were also able to see how the O.C. Tanner Company and organization celebrates its employees by offering on site training, tuition reimbursement, and growth potential, as well as celebrating health and wellness on its campus. The highlight of the field trip included each CTE student and participating adult receiving a hand-created coin which was manufactured on site with their name engraved.
Thank you to the O.C. Tanner employees who made this opportunity available to our students.
