Dual Language Immersion

Beginning in elementary school, students receive instruction in both Spanish and English, allowing them to achieve academic proficiency in both languages. The program fosters brain development, enhances problem-solving skills, and prepares students for future career and educational opportunities in a global society. When students enter high school, they can begin to earn college credit. The credit they earn in a high school DLI program is accepted by all of Utah’s universities. In four years, students can earn up to 12 college units to put towards a minor in Spanish with their degree in anything!

Magnet Gifted and Talented

Our services offer students the opportunity to engage in learning with greater depth, complexity, and rigor through differentiated curriculum and instruction. Coursework is extended beyond the general education classroom to develop critical and creative thinking. Classes are taught by certified teachers who have received or are receiving a Gifted and Talented Education Endorsement. The Extended Learning Program serves gifted/talented and high ability students in elementary and middle schools with two service models, Magnet Gifted & Talented and Advanced Academics and Mentoring Program (AAMP).

  1. Self-directed learners
  2. Quality workers and producers
  3. Cooperative group participants and leaders
  4. Contributors to our community
  5. Complex thinkers and problem solvers
  6. Effective communicators

Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement classes offer college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. At the end of the school year, students may take an exam for each AP course and can earn college credit based on their scores for each exam. The amount of college credit awarded may vary for each college or university.

AP Capstone

AP Capstone™ is a diploma program from College Board based on two yearlong AP courses: AP Seminar and AP Research. Rather than teaching subject-specific content, these courses develop students’ skills in research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing, and presenting. Students who complete the two-year program can earn one of two different AP Capstone awards, which are valued by colleges across the United States and around the world.

International Baccalaureate

The IB program is designed for academically able students who desire a curriculum that presents subject matter from a worldwide perspective. Students who are highly motivated and productive will benefit from this course of study. Students are admitted for 9th grade through an application process, which begins in November of their 8th grade year.
