West High School Students Invited to 2010 AIME

The Mathematical Association of America has invited eight West High School students to take part in the 2010 American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME). This honor was earned based upon these students' outstanding scores in the 2010 American Mathematics Competitions (AMC 12A and 10A) held on February 9th. Only about 3% of U.S. students seeking qualification for the AIME by taking these AMCs received such invitations.

West's qualifying students are Glen Brixey, Bronson Wongkew, Delian Asparouhov, Kazi Ahmed, Jimin Yoon, Ben Silcox, Kasper Kubica, and Rebecca Nickerson. Although not qualifying for the AIME, two of West's 7th graders - Sarah Silcox and John Little - were recognized for Young Student Achievement by scoring at least 60% on the AMC 10A.

Many thanks to Ms. Cami Perkes for coordinating these challenging competitions at West High School.
