Magnet (Full-Time Program) Appeal Application and Deadlines
- DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 30 for 2nd semester 2025-2026:
- Online appeal form and survey will open on August 29 and close on November 30
- APPEAL FORM – Must be completeted to start the appeal process – ONLINE APPEAL FORM
- SURVEY – One survey to be completed by parent/guardian AND one survey to be completed teacher, principal or school employee – SURVEY
- Notification of outcome by December 19
- DEADLINE IS MARCH 31, 2026 for 2026-2027 School Year:
- Online appeal form and survey will open in January 2026 and close on March 31, 2026
- Check back in January 2026 for links to online Appeal form and online Survey.
- Notification of outcome by April 17, 2026
AAMP (Part-Time Program) Appeal Application and Deadline for the 2025-2026 School Year
- September 12 – Contact your school's AAMP teacher for appeal form
- Notification of outcome by September 19

Opt-In Testing Application

LINK CLOSES ON DECEMBER 12, 2025
- WHO: Any Open Classroom Kinder or 3rd grade student; any Kinder or 3rd grade student NOT attending a SLCSD school; AND any 6th or 7th graders*.
- *NOTE: 6th or 7th grade students currently in a SLCSD Magnet program AND 6th or 7th grade students previously eligible but not currently in a SLCSD full-time Magnet program do not need to re-test. Check with the Advanced Academics Dept to confirm and for your middle school options.
- WHAT ASSESSMENT & WHEN:
- K: Full CogAT with age appropriate breaks
- 3rd, 6th, 7th grade: Full CogAT
- Testing late January/early February 2026. Dates & Times TBD
- Sign up on the website from Sept. 9-Dec. 12. Click on the yellow highlighted link above to access the online application.
