Administration

Equal Opportunity Employment

Salt Lake City School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment decisions—including hiring, promotion, and compensation—are made without regard to race, religion, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, color, national origin, or any other non-meritorious factor. Applicants and employees are evaluated based on their qualifications, experience, education, and potential to contribute to the success of the district.

Disability Accommodation

SLCSD complies with all federal and state laws regarding the employment of individuals with disabilities. The district does not discriminate in any aspect of employment, including application procedures, hiring, advancement, termination, compensation, or training.

Reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified individuals with disabilities to enable them to perform the essential functions of their positions, unless doing so would pose a direct threat to health or safety or result in undue hardship. Requests for accommodation should be directed to the Human Resource Services Department.

E-Verify Participation

Salt Lake City School District participates in the E-Verify program. As part of the hiring process, the district will provide the federal government with information from your Form I-9 to confirm your authorization to work in the United States. If E-Verify cannot confirm your work authorization, you will be given written instructions and an opportunity to contact the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or the Social Security Administration (SSA) to resolve the issue before any employment action is taken.

E-Verify is used only after a job offer has been extended and the Form I-9 has been completed.

Employment Sponsorship

Salt Lake City School District does not sponsor employment visas for any position. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of their employment with the district. Proof of work authorization will be required as part of the hiring and onboarding process.

Employment Contingencies

All offers of employment with Salt Lake City School District are contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background check for applicants 18 years and older. Additionally, certain safety-sensitive, federally or state regulated positions may be subject to pre-employment, ongoing or random drug testing as a condition of continued employment. These requirements will be clearly communicated during the hiring process for applicable roles.
