(Source: High School Community Education Classes: West Events )Details:
Contemporary is a genre of dance performance that developed in the mid 20th century. It is an eclectic style that emphasizes self-expression (if it feels good, it looks good!) and emotionality. Contemporary draws from ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop. We are going to use Horton technique to build strength and flexibility, learn improvisational techniques to discover freedom and kinesthetic joy of movement, and learn dance routines. Let’s kick, hop, stomp, roll, contract, release, wave, slide, wiggle, shake, jump, fall, get back up and do it all over again! (The class content will be adjusted based on class’s preferences)
