Apps For Parents
We want our parents and families to know the apps we are using to help streamline their experience in our district.
ParentSquare – School and District Communication
- ParentSquare: This app helps you stay connected with your child’s school. You can receive updates, share files, view school events, and more. Every school in the district will be using ParentSquare, so you’ll only need ONE app to stay connected, even if you have kids in several district schools.
- Where to get it: Visit ParentSquare's website or download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- How to use it: Watch the “Getting Started” video.

SchoolCash Online – Paying School Fees
Salt Lake City School District now uses SchoolCash Online for all school items and activity fees. SchoolCash Online is a secure online payment platform that allows parents to manage all school fees and items for their students. Visit our SchoolCash Online webpage for more information and to create an account.
Edia
Salt Lake City School District is upgrading how we communicate with you about attendance. Starting this school year, all schools will begin using Edia Learning, our new attendance notification system.
Here's what will change: when your student is marked absent, you'll receive a text from Edia Learning. Just reply to tell us why they missed school. We genuinely want to know. Whether your child stayed home due to illness, a hard day, anxiety, or something happening at school, your response helps us show up for them. The AI assistant routes your reply directly to your school’s office staff, who can connect your family with any needed resources or support.
If you need help with these apps, please contact your child's school or send a help request to our IT department.
