UPDATE: April 7 - Construction Begins
The north and east parking lots are now closed as crews have begun installing construction fencing and completing preliminary work for the new school this week. When students return from Spring
Highland High School, originally opened in 1956, is a cornerstone of the Sugar House community. Highland serves 1,883 students in grades 9–12, whose families speak 29 different languages. The new school will be built on the north side of the campus, so students can continue learning in the current building while the new school is under construction.

Crews are currently digging and removing dirt and asphalt on the south end of campus to prepare the area for additional parking and lighting that will support construction activities in spring 2026.
