Grounds Department PM Schedule

Grounds Department Preventative Bldg. Maintenance

July – November: Weekly mowing, Weed control, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Selective pruning, Targeted irrigation inspection for operation, control and disrepair. Management of contracted services for various needs.

August – October: Preparations in equipment for the coming winter services. Equipment and vehicles are thoroughly inspected and put through function tests for safety and capability/readiness. These are the first of many steps to our plowing and salting preventative maintenance services we provide through the winter.

Pruning of fence lines, trees and ornamental planter beds/flower beds maintenance, work orders comprise the rest of our duties, responsibilities, and preventative maintenance. Management of contracted services for various needs.

 

October - November: Irrigation winterization through the use of compressors and gravity syphon techniques to purge water from the sprinkler systems that could freeze and cause damage.

With summer temperatures coming down reducing the risk of ‘Fire Blight’ and other plant pathogens we engage in more pruning, and planter beds/flower beds maintenance, as well as removal of the fall leaf drop. Management of contracted services for various needs.

 

November – March: Pruning and trimming of plant overgrowth from fence lines, ornamental beds, hedge rows, etc. Also clean up and removal of Fall Season debris- leaves and the dying off of ornamental perennial plant growth. Management of contracted services for various needs.

 

December: Snow removal services: Bulk Salt management, snow plowing, Bulk salt application/spreading, vehicle, plows, salters, and equipment maintenance. Risk Management.

Pruning of fence lines, ornamental beds, and trees.

Removal of Fall and other debris, clean-up wk.

Sm. Landscape projects.

Safety training.

Work order completion.

Summer equipment maintenance & prep.

The first of Preventative Maintenance (PM) rolling of the baseball infields. This practice helps to maintain an optimal playing surface in the infield, keeping it flat and smooth providing an ideal running surface as well as reduction of groundball pop up that may cause injury. Management of contracted services for various needs.

 

February – April: Snow removal services: Bulk Salt management, snow plowing, Bulk salt application/spreading, vehicle, plows, salters, and equipment maintenance. Risk Management. Pruning of fence lines, ornamental beds, and trees.

Supply and Materials inventory, ordering, and management in preparation for coming growth season.

Preparations in equipment for the coming growth season services mowing, edging, trimming, aerating, overseeding, soil adjuvants, pruning of fence lines, ornamentals, and trees.

These services include cleaning of mower decks, flat tire prevention additives to pneumatic tires, spark plug replacement, belt drives inspected- belts changed or tension adjustments made and many more maintenance items. Management of contracted services for various needs.

 

April – June: All growth season services including bi-weekly mowing, selective pruning, planting, seeding, limited/targeted applications of both fertilizer and weed control, irrigation adjustments to balance the health of turf with wise use of water conservation techniques, along with mechanical adjustments and adjustment in practices that promote water conservation.
