Board Meeting
This week, the Salt Lake City School District Board of Education appointed Annie Romano to fill the board vacancy seat in Precinct 5. She was one of five people interviewed during a public meeting and was sworn in on Tuesday night by Salt Lake County Clerk Lannie Chapman. Romano will serve on the board until December 31, 2026, and the seat will be up for election in November 2026.

Annie Stevens Romano is a parent to two district students and brings a strong background in nonprofit management, education, and community service. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Curatorial Studies and a Master of Public Administration, both from Brigham Young University and has worked with institutions including the University of Utah and Cornell University. Her extensive volunteer work reflects her commitment to equity and global citizenship. Annie is honored to serve and support students, families, and educators across the district. She is an alumna of Bonneville Elementary, Clayton Middle School, and East High School in the Salt Lake City School District.
