Kindergarten Registration
We’re so glad you’re here and excited that you’re exploring kindergarten for your child. Beginning school is a big milestone, and we’re honored you’re considering our schools as the place where your child’s learning journey will begin. Our goal is to create a strong foundation for curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in every student.

Your child can start kindergarten if they turn 5 on or before September 1. Additionally, Utah law requires students to be toilet-trained before enrolling in kindergarten.

Online registration generally begins in July, but we recommend contacting your school in the spring to request registration information. Some schools may have a pre-enrollment process for new students.

All kindergartens in our district are full-day programs. However, families can choose to register for a half-day option.

- a certified copy of the student’s birth certificate or other reliable proof of the student’s identity and age, and
- a certified and complete immunization record or official immunization exemption.
Under the McKinney-Vento Act, students whose families are experiencing homelessness are entitled to immediate enrollment and full participation in school, even if they are unable to produce records normally required for enrollment. -

If you need to know which school your child will attend, you can use our online school locator. On that page, you can enter your address, and it will list your neighborhood schools for elementary, middle, and high school.

In Utah, families have a choice in where their students attend school. Utah law allows families and their students to apply to attend a school even if it is outside of their neighborhood. Early Open Enrollment runs from November 15 through the first Friday in February each school year. It is the time when parents can submit their application(s) for the coming school year.
