Online Professional Development Guidelines

From the 16 hours of paid professional development per year which an individual teacher can complete at the rate of $30/hour, no more than 10 hours may be completed as part of an asynchronous, online course. 

Individuals who are interested in receiving USBE credit or pay from the 16 hours at $30/hour funds for a professional development opportunity not offered by the District must complete the following:

• BEFORE beginning the professional development, the pre-approval form must be completed. If the form is not completed prior to an individual beginning the professional development, the individual will not be paid.
• AFTER the professional development is approved, the individual may begin working and complete the PD.
• AFTER the professional development is complete, the individual must submit the “Individual Credit Applicationˮ found on the SLCSD Professional Development website. This submission must include all items listed including a certificate of completion with the exact number of hours completed.
