New Administrators for 2026-27

Chelsea is an experienced educator and school leader who brings a strong commitment to student-centered learning. She holds a Master’s degree in Education and an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Supervision and is a certified American Montessori educator as well as a National Geographic Certified Educator.

Chelsea began her career teaching in Jackson, Tennessee, where she spent 10 years in public schools. She then served as principal of a public school in St. George, Utah for five years, successfully guiding the school out of turnaround status. Most recently, she returned to the classroom to teach elementary students, keeping her instructional skills current and hands-on. She will serve as the new principal of Meadowlark Elementary effective July 1, 2026.

Chelsea is also the mother of six children—three biological and three adopted from Thailand, Ethiopia, and China. Her son from China is deaf, and the family communicates using both spoken language and ASL. This gives Chelsea firsthand experience with diversity and inclusion.

Chelsea is dedicated to building strong relationships with students, families, faculty, and staff, and to creating learning environments where every child can thrive.

Elise Krause is an educator and instructional leader dedicated to student success. She discovered her passion for education in fifth grade and has since committed her career to supporting students, teachers, and school communities. Most recently, she served as part of the West High School administrative team and brings extensive experience teaching at both the elementary and middle school levels. She has taught in Arizona, Utah, and Idaho.

Elise leads with a collaborative, student-centered approach grounded in data-informed decision-making. Her work includes experience with PBIS implementation, attendance improvement, and comprehensive student support systems.

Outside of work, Elise enjoys reading young adult fantasy and science fiction and exploring new recipes. She is honored to serve as Assistant Principal at Nibley Elementary and is committed to supporting the growth of every student, every day.

Dr. Marcella Gerstenberger has been the Assistant Principal at Edison Elementary for the past three years. She is thrilled to step into the role of Principal and continue working with the amazing staff, students, and families at Edison! As a school leader, Dr. Gerstenberger brings a strong background in literacy instruction and a focus on ensuring high-quality educational experiences for all students. Dr. Gerstenberger earned her doctorate in education leadership and policy from the University of Utah in 2021. She has also worked as an elementary literacy coach in Salt Lake City School District and has taught Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade. Originally from California, she has worked in schools in Boston, San Francisco, Denver, and Salt Lake City. Outside of school, she loves spending time with her husband and two kids, trail-running, and getting into the mountains. 

Kelsi brings 15 years of PreK–12 educational experience to this role. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and has served in a variety of roles, including Speech-Language Pathologist, Special Education Teacher, Special Education Director, and Principal. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with students, families, and staff to understand and respond to diverse student needs, ensuring that instruction is both meaningful and inclusive.

Kelsi is deeply committed to creating a school environment where every student feels seen, valued, and supported. She believes in educating the whole child and works collaboratively with teachers and families to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. She is passionate about partnering with educators to design learning experiences that reflect the strengths and needs of the students and community they serve.

Outside of her professional role, Kelsi enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with family and friends. She is also an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, skiing, and playing soccer.

Kelsi is excited to join the North Star community and looks forward to meeting students, connecting with families, and working alongside the dedicated staff to continue the important work ahead.

Jeremy is currently an Assistant Principal Intern at Kennedy Jr. High. Jeremy is excited to begin his new role as Assistant Principal at Northwest Middle. He is passionate about building strong relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community while creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Before moving into administration, Jeremy began his teaching career at Valley Jr. High, where he taught PE, Health, and Health Sciences. Throughout his teaching career, he also coached multiple sports, with volleyball being his favorite. Jeremy earned his bachelor’s degree from SUU and later completed two master’s degrees in Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Leadership through WGU.

Outside of school, Jeremy enjoys traveling and playing volleyball.

Gabriel Guadiana, often known as Mr. G, most recently served as principal at Whittier Elementary in the Granite School District and, before that, as assistant principal at Parkview Elementary. He brings a wealth of experience in Title I schools and a deep connection to the community, having grown up in the area. We are thrilled to welcome him back to SLCSD and to Mountain View.

Taylor graduated from West High School and has been educating ever since. He's taught from 3rd to 8th grade, been an instructional coach, and is now a passionate school leader committed to joining teachers and students on their journey of lifelong growth. He loves the outdoors, especially running long distances, but he is also happy playing video games or at a cozy reading party with his wife. He has coached debate, chess, and running. He wants every school to be a source of joy, learning, and happy memories, just like he had as a student at Lowell Elementary and West High.

Adrienne brings twenty-four years of experience in the Salt Lake City School District, where she has served students, families, and educators in a variety of impactful roles. Throughout her career, she has worked with diverse student populations and remains committed to creating inclusive learning environments where every student feels a sense of belonging and is supported in achieving academic success.

Adrienne began her career as an elementary teacher at Parkview Elementary, teaching third through fifth grade. She later transitioned to a district role as a data and assessment specialist, supporting district and state assessment processes, partnering with schools to analyze student performance data, and helping administrators and educators use data to improve student outcomes.

Known for her collaborative leadership style and commitment to building strong relationships with students, staff, and the broader school community, Adrienne served as assistant principal at North Star Elementary for five years before stepping into the principal role, where she has served for the past five years. During her tenure, she led initiatives focused on academic growth and achievement, fostering a positive school culture, and developing comprehensive systems of support that help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Outside of work, Adrienne enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, listening to music, attending concerts and arts events, and pursuing lifelong learning, personal growth, and overall wellness.
