Purpose
Our primary purpose is to incorporate social and emotional learning concepts to encourage youth to remain in school while building a sense of closeness in interpersonal relationships by being a part of the Community Education Middle School Intramural Sports Program.
Philosophy
The philosophy of the Community Education Middle School Intramural Sports Program (CEMSISP) is to provide students with an opportunity to participate in activities “without a win at all cost atmosphere.” The primary reason for participation in the CEMSISP is for the enjoyment of the activities rather than pressure to compete and win, as in athletic competition. The CEMSISP provides students with a level of sports that concentrates on learning the game and developing skills. Students can develop or refine skills in a variety of activities.
Communtiy Education, in partnership with the salt Lake Education Foundation, collaborates to support hand-son enrichment opportunities for the youth of the Salt Lake City School District through high-quality after-school programming.
