Dilworth Elementary

Update: August 28, 2026

Workers lay sod on a baseball field, transforming the infield.

Over the summer, crews have been working hard to prepare our fields, removing weeds, leveling the playing surfaces, and getting everything ready for new sod. That sod will be installed this weekend, which means the fields will be closed to both school and community use for several weeks while it takes root.

We appreciate the patience of our students, teachers, staff, and community members during this process. These improvements will help ensure our fields are in great shape for the year ahead.

UPDATE: July 9, 2026

An aerial view shows a dry, grassy field next to a tennis court and a sand area.Crews are taking off the first layer of grass on both fields to get rid of weeds. They will then start the slight regrading of the southwest diamond and field, which will be used by the Highland High baseball team. Once all that work is done, crews will come in and place soil and all new sod. The fields will be fenced off for a while after the sod is laid, giving the sod some time to germinate. 

 

 

 

Update: Dilworth Field – November 7, 2025

A modern building with a brick facade and large windows under a cloudy sky.Survey and design work for the field at Dilworth Elementary will be done in the spring of 2026, but construction won’t start until the summer. Field use will continue as normal through the end of this school year.
