September 14, 2026 Online application to opt into January 2027 testing opens today and closes December 11, 2026.  This is for any 6th or 7th grade student attending any school in any district AND any kindergarten and 3rd grade students NOT attending a SLCSD school.  See our webpage for more information:  FORMS

August 18, 2026 AAMP Online Appeal Form opens today and closes on September 11, 2026.  See our webpage for more information:  FORMS
Aug/Sept 2026 New-to-District Students in grades 1, 2, 4, 5 & 6 will automatically be tested within the first few weeks of the start of school (no signup is needed).  Parents will be notified ONLY if student is eligible.  
Mid-July 2026 Online Registration opens mid-July 2026.  You will receive an email regarding online registration to register your student at their school for the 2026-2027 school year.

Week of April 20, 2026 Emails with responses to “Opt Back Into Magnet Requests” and “Transfer Requests” were sent to the email address listed on the request.
Friday, April 17, 2026 Emails with the Appeal Committee decision were sent to the email address listed on the Appeal Application.
  CLAYTON MIDDLE SCHOOL MAGNET (ELP) REGISTRATION & COURSE SELECTION
School Registration:  Online registration starts in July 2026
Course Selection:
-If Clayton is your feeder school, counselors visited feeder elementary schools and handed out course selection cards.  If you have not received a course selection card, stop by or call Clayton MIddle School to receive a card.  Counselors would like these returned by February 13, if possible, but you can turn in anytime.
-If Clayton is not your feeder school, the registrar will contact parents of Magnet eligible students with your course selection information.

HILLSIDE MIDDLE SCHOOL MAGNET (ELP) REGISTRATION & COURSE SELECTION
School Registration:  Online registration starts in July 2026
Course Selection:
-If Hillside is your feeder school, counselors visited feeder elementary schools and handed out course selection cards.  Counselors will return to these elementary schools to collect course selection cards in the first two weeks of February.  If you have not received a course selection card, you may call or email Hillside Middle School to receive a card.  Counselors would like these returned by February 13, if possible, but you can turn in anytime. 
-If Hillside is not your feeder school, couselors will contact parents of Magnet eligible students by February 9 with your course selection information.  Parents can also call or email Hillside Middle School to have a course selection card sent to them.

Thursday, March 12, 2026 IN-DISTRICT KINDER & 3RD GRADE STUDENTS WHO TESTED IN JANUARY 2026
Message was sent via ParentSquare if your student was found eligible for for the full-time elementary Magnet program for the 2026-2027 school year.  Students who do not meet eligibility requirements will not receive a letter.  If not eligible and you wish to submit an appeal, appeals due by March 31, 2026.   LINK TO APPEAL FORMS
February 10, 2026 For in-district kindergarten and 3rd grade students who tested in January 2026, stanine reports have been uploaded to Parent Portal.  You will be contacted by mid-March if your student is eligible for the Magnet program.  If not eligible and you wish to submit an appeal, appeals due by March 31, 2026.  LINK TO APPEAL FORMS
February 9, 2026 For 6th & 7th grade students who tested in January 2026, results were sent to the email address listed in your online application.  If you do not see the email in your inbox, check your span and junk mailboxes as well.  
January 23, 24, 29, & 30, 2026 Opt-In testing for students whose parents completed an online application by December 12, 2025. 
Parents were sent an email with information to sign up for a testing session.
Deadline to sign up for testing session was January 14.
