Peanut Butter Notice

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches Now on Elementary School Menus

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches will be available as a menu option this year in elementary school cafeterias across the district.

Because some students have peanut allergies, we want to make sure everyone has the information they need. Students with peanut allergies should avoid selecting or eating any foods that contain peanuts or peanut products. We encourage parents and guardians to review the school menus with their children and talk about why it's important to avoid foods containing peanuts.

Our school cafeteria staff will keep doing their part too, thoroughly cleaning tables and food prep areas and taking extra precautions to help reduce the risk of accidental exposure.

For students with a documented peanut allergy, staff will continue to follow that student's Allergy Action Plan or Health Alert. These plans give staff key details about the allergy, warning signs to watch for, and what to do in an emergency. Our team is prepared to administer emergency medication and respond quickly if needed, always in line with the student's plan and district procedures.

For more information about student health plans, please contact the school nurse assigned to your student’s school. A list of school nurses and the schools they work at is available on our website.

Thank you for helping us keep every student safe and supported at school.
