Volunteer Opportunities

Improving literacy is a priority for our school district. Several of our elementary schools are looking for volunteers to come once or twice a week for 30+ minutes at a time to read with students. Some teachers prepare packets, workbooks, or specific passages for the tutoring session, and volunteers typically meet with the same students throughout the year. Meeting with the same students each week is a great way to improve reading proficiency, and it makes school a more interesting and fun place for them, which often improves their attendance. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer reading tutor, please see the following opportunities. 

 

 

Backman Elementary
