Review of 2023-2024 Student End-of-Year Assessment Data and School Improvement Report

The results of the spring 2024 end-of-year tests revealed two key trends:

  1. The early years of education are critical. It was easier to help kindergarten students move from below expectations to meeting or exceeding expectations compared to 3rd grade students.
  2. No matter the grade, students who stay in our district for two or more years show greater growth on end-of-year tests than those who attend for only one year.

The report also included a review of state accountability reports and how the reports are calculated.

Board Goals – Benchmarks and Implementation Strategies

The board reviewed data on three potential goals: improving literacy, reducing chronic absenteeism, and expanding career and college pathways.

Canvassing of Special Bond Election Results

The board officially accepted the results of the special bond election held on Tuesday, November 5. According to the Salt Lake County Clerk’s office, 61 percent of voters supported the bond proposition, while 39 percent opposed it.

Thank you, Salt Lakers, for supporting our schools and students!
