Congratulations to West High School student Anika Rao, who was named a 2022 Bank of America Student Leader! Only 300 students from across the country are selected for this prestigious program.

Salt Lake City School District’s Summer Food Service Program will offer free meals to all children, ages 0-18, in the community this summer. Both breakfast and lunch will be available free of charge at various locations throughout the city.

Forty-two students from East, West, Highland, and Innovations High Schools participated in the district's first-ever Career and Technical Education (CTE) Signing Day

As we near the end of the school year, we come to the time for end-of-year tests. These tests can be stressful for some students, but they play a vital role.

Marianne Liu, an 11th grader at West High School, placed first overall in the Intermountain Science and Humanities Symposium.

Clayton Middle School will be the home of the district's virtual middle school program for online students, starting in the 2022-23 school year.

I want to take this time to reiterate that we are a village and that it takes all of us to ensure the success of our children. Villages are places where people know each other, rely on each other, and understand the strength in interdependence among all within.

I hope we have weathered the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic and its strain on our students, families, staff, and employees.

The recent surge in the number of COVID-19 cases is shocking and troubling. The number of our students, employees, and families affected by this virus has captured everyone’s attention, and it will take all of us working together to get through this challenging time.

Leaders from the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) visited Mountain View Elementary's faculty meeting this week to inform the teachers and staff that Mountain View has been selected as a National ESEA Distinguished School. 

Earlier this month, West High School’s Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) unit conducted its annual Area Manager Inspection.

Utah Jazz star Rudy Gobert and Smith’s are joining forces with Northwest Middle School and the Salt Lake Education Foundation to ensure that students and their families do not go hungry with the Northwest Family Center’s food pantry.

I want to share some exciting news to kick off the August newsletter. I am thrilled to announce the hiring of our new Associate Superintendent, Dr. Gwendolyn Johnson-White.

I am excited to send my first message as Superintendent of the Salt Lake City School District.

Three Salt Lake City School District high school students have been selected to participate in Bank of America's Student Leaders Program.

Today, the district announced their policy for free and reduced-price meals and free milk for children unable to pay the full price of meals/milk served under the National SchoolLunch, School Breakfast, After School Snack, and/or Special Milk programs. 

The Salt Lake City School District is excited to announce a partnership with Odyssey House to provide free Telehealth School-based Therapy to any student in the Salt Lake City School District. Services are funded through a Department of Human Services Suicide Prevention grant and a Salt Lake County Behavioral Health grant.
