CTE Signing Day
Forty-two students from East, West, Highland, and Innovations High Schools participated in the district's first-ever Career and Technical Education (CTE) Signing Day. On this day, we recognized CTE students who have made significant accomplishments in their CTE Health Science classes.
Typically signing days have been for athletes who are committing to a particular college or program. The CTE students we honored have completed at least two of the following categories:
- Successfully passed the Medical Assistant and/or Certified Nursing Assistant State exam;
- Completed all the required clinical hours in a health facility or Hospital Medical Center along the Wasatch Front;
- Offered and/or accepted a job in the Health Science field; or
- Committed to continuing post-secondary studies in the area of Health Science.
The students were honored by Dr. Timothy Gadson, Superintendent of the Salt Lake City School District, and Ms. Maren Hansen, the Health Science Specialist for the Utah State Board of Education.
