Masters Equivalency Program
Salt Lake City School District offers a Master's Lane Equivalency (MLE) option to educators on the BA+40 lane. This is an individual program of study which includes 15 quarter hours or 10 semester hours of study (including university hours) and a project of a scope similar to a master's thesis. This project will be something that will benefit other educators in the district.
The project must be approved by the MLE Committee before it is started. Projects start with conversations with the content area supervisor in the district office in the area most applicable to the project. The final project will also be evaluated by the committee. Teachers cannot move beyond this lane to MA+20 or MA+40; that requires a master's degree conferred by an accredited university.
